Astanga Vinyasa Yoga

Astanga Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing dynamic form of yoga. Asanas are coordinated with Ujjayi breathing. The focus on breath, bandhas and dhristi awakens the inner intelligence and purifies the body through increased heat on a deep cellular level. Prana (Life Force) is increased and the practice will become a moving meditation through which each expresses their own individuality.

Discovered by Sri Krishmacharya and Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Astanga Yoga is challenging but worthwhile. The asana series are predefined, and work on purifying first the physical and pranic body, paving the way for increased awareness and consciousness.

The aim of the classes is to teach the fundamentals first before progressing to practising in the traditional style taught by Sri K Pattabhi Jois in Mysore with 'hands-on' adjustments
